Flash 21 Gelling Agent

Flash 21 is the new fuel gelling agent developed by ICL Canada (Phos-Chek) and is distributed throughout the U.S. by Type One Incident Support Inc. This product is a two-part liquid gelling agent solution that provides a fast, reliable gelling time for aerial heli-torch and ground-based torch mixing applications ("terra torch"). Flash 21 is designed to be added to fuel in two parts - A and B. One 1-liter bottle of each part A and part B will gel approximately 50 U.S. gallons of fuel - although the amount of Flash 21 required depends somewhat on the type of fuel used, and your specific mixing equipment. One case of Flash 21 includes 12 liters of product - six (6) of Flash 21 A and six (6) of Flash 21 B and will treat approximately 330 gallons of fuel.

Flash 21 can be mixed with various types of fuels, including straight gasoline, diesel, Avgas, Jet A or Jet B - or different combinations of fuels as required. Please contact Type One for more information regarding mixing of ethanol-based fuels with Flash 21.

Flash 21 was developed to allow users to mix the product with any type of fuel, regardless of temperature, and ensure a consistent gelled fuel mixture without the problem of dust and inhalation hazards caused by the various dry powdered products currently in use. Flash 21 mixes and disperses throughout the fuel with no clumping and sets up quickly - every time. The product reaches desirable viscosity in very short mix times (3-6 minutes depending on source fuel temperature), and will stay suspended throughout the operational period. Flash 21 can even be pre-mixed as much as 48 hours in advance of a burning project and will still be ready for use after a short recirculation of the gelled product. If you go out of prescription on a project, the mixed product can be stored for long lengths of time and used days or even weeks later once burning conditions improve.
