The Rookie Fire Hose Roller
The Rookie Sidekick motorized fire hose roller
is the latest innovation in managing and working with different
types and sizes of fire hose. The unit is easy to operate,
portable, and will roll 100-foot hose sections in less than
30 seconds (up to 3" hose diameter). Each Rookie Sidekick
is supplied with a standard 2" receiver hitch connection
to mount on any vehicle hitch and can also be mounted on the
rear cargo rack of an appropriately rated ATV. The standard
unit is normally supplied with a 3.0 hp Honda gas engine,
however, 12 and 120-volt electric models are also available.
The optional portable stand can be added to allow the unit
to be moved and operated by one person.
The Rookie Sidekick uses a direct drive system
that is simple and safe to operate with the supplied foot
pedal control, and weighs less than 150 pounds. Roll fire
hose quickly and easily at the incident scene, in camp, at
the equipment warehouse or station. The unit is fully UL tested
and approved and can also improve safety by preventing firefighter
on-the-job injuries. The Rookie Sidekick is an ideal solution
for wildland/interface agencies and fire departments that
do their own hose testing. Straight round rolls, "double
doughnut" and Gnass wildland hose packs can also be rolled
with the Rookie Sidekick.
Alternate designs are also available for rolling
5" structural supply hose, industrial and other municipal
